Born in the desert and raised in the woods. I discovered a passion for books, ideas and intellectual discussion while attending school in Germany during the Cold War. Today, my teaching and research focus on German film since unification, the horror genre as an international form, and the intersection of aesthetics and politics. These interests are of course combined with work in DaF (German as a Foreign Language) and second language pedagogy and curriculum as they relate to German and the Humanities .
